WHAT IS BELOTERO?

Belotero is an FDA approved, hyaluronic acid-based injectable filler, much like Juvederm or Restylane. The gel temporarily adds volume to the skin giving it a smoother appearance. One of its clear advantages is its ability to treat superficial or “fine” lines along the nasolabial folds (the folds or wrinkles that go from the side of the nose to the corner of the mouth). Where some hyaluronic acid fillers can create a bluish hue if injected too superficially (due to light reflected through the skin reflecting off the clear filler), this is not the case with Belotero. In this sense, it fills a niche in treating superficial fine lines of the face. Another advantage of using Belotero is its ability to eliminate its effects if you are unhappy with the results. Using an injectable enzyme called hyaluronidase, the effects of any hyaluronic acid filler, including Belotero, can be removed dissolving the filler and eliminating the effects.

There is no allergy test required with this injectable.
